Development of Resistance of HIV
The HIV virus mutates, ie that the genetic information of the virus and the surface constitution of its cover is modified over time. As the drugs taken in HIV infection or AIDS are directed against certain very specific characteristics of the virus and its development in their multiplication, minimum changes of the HIV virus may decrease its effect or lead to a loss of the same ; is what is known as viral resistance to the drug, or even multiple drugs.
In such cases, it is a challenge to provide effective medical treatment for HIV . Drug treatment may consist of many diverse substances to reach at least a minimal effect.
